Devices

We are excited to announce that we have introduced some new functionality to MyLGB, and in particular the Devices page of the configuration.

Devices that are reporting in to Little Green Button, will now automatically show up on this page.

This will allow any MyLGB user with a role of 'Admin' to keep a close eye on Devices that are active on Little Green Button, and take corrective action if so required. With this change, it is easier to get started with a configuration on an existing Little Green Button system, and no longer necessary to have an external list of Devices, or obtain this information from the Device Reports, to then manually add into the configuration.

Start centrally managing your Devices and their Locations today by configuring your Locations using any naming convention that works best for your organisations, and configure one or more Groups to control how Alerts flow between them. Then simply start adding and assigning the Devices to the appropriate Location(s).

Tip

In order to utilise this functionality, ensure all Devices have the latest version of Little Green Button installed, as older versions do not supply their Device Name to the MyLGB portal.

New Devices

A Device that has not been previously added to the Configuration will show up with a yellow 'Add' button. Adding this Device into the configuration, will allow a MyLGB admin to Edit it, and assign it its desired Location(s).

Location Warning

When a Device is reporting in under a Location that is not part of the configuration, or is different to the Location that it has been assigned, a warning symbol is displayed. Devices that are not using a Location that is part of a Group, will be following Default Escalation.

Last Seen

To help keep a configuration up to date, the 'Last seen' column has been introduced. This was previously only visible on Device Reports, but will now also be shown on the Devices page. A Device that has been pre-emptively added to the configuration, but has never been seen, may need the software installed, or has a misspelled Device name. A Device that has not been seen in a long time, may need to be retired, or the Little Green Button software may need to be repaired.

Operating System and Version

The final two columns that are introduced give an iconic representation of:

  • Which platform this Device is;
                - Windows

                - Android

                - iOS

  • Information about the version of Little Green Button that is present on this Device

                - A green checkmark shows the latest version of the software is detected

                - A yellow warning symbol will indicate that an update to the software is recommended.

                - A red warning symbol will indicate that the installed version of Little Green Button on this Device is missing some                 important features, and should be updated as soon as possible.

Retiring Devices

Devices may be removed from active circulation, and no longer necessary to be configured. Deleting a Device from the configuration will mark it as 'Retired', and it will no longer show on the Default view. Retired Devices can be viewed by adjusting the filter in the top right hand corner of the grid, and re-added to the configuration.
