Based on feedback we receive from our customers, as well as our goal to continuously improve the Little Green Button, you will sometimes be asked to update the installed software on your device.
The software is installed per device, and for the best experience, we always advise you to ensure that you are running the latest version of the Little Green Button on all your devices.
While we do endeavour to make the impact to our customers as low as possible, some new functionality, or crucial fixes in security or stability, require a change in the software.
Updating is quite straight forward, please see below for guidance for each of the platforms the Little Green Button is available on.
If an update or upgrade is available for your Little Green Button installation, you will see a notification pop up in the bottom right hand side of your screen.
In most cases it will suffice to simply right click the Little Green Button floating on your desktop, and choose the 'Install Upgrade' menu option.
Alternatively, you can always manually update by following the steps for installing a new button.
Depending on what version you are updating from, it is possible that you are asked to supply an activation key to re-join your licence. You can always retrieve one from the Activation menu of your MyLGB site. Your designated licence administrator(s) will have access to this, and will be able to grant access to additional members of staff if required. You can also reach out to our support team for some assistance in finding one. Please be reminded that access to the management site is not required to be able to use the software.
Sometimes, you might not be allowed to make any changes to software that is installed on your system. This is usually caused by security settings implemented by your technical IT team, and will require the intervention of a system administrator.
If this is the case, please reach out to your IT support team for assistance, as we at Little Green Button have no control over your systems, or any privileged access to install software on your behalf. We have extensive guidance available to assist with Deployment To Multiple Workstations, and we are more than happy to speak with your IT directly if they would like to reach out with any questions.
